The International Dance Theatre is the only professional dance theatre in the world to offer an international repertoire from all corners of the world The company will introduce the audience to the rich (dance) culture of different people in an appealing way.

In the 2011/2012 season, the International Dance Theatre will celebrate its 50th anniversary. During those fifty years, the company has collected a wealth of choreographies, musical instruments and costumes from all over the world. This collection just keep growing and produces special productions every year. In a contemporary theatrical tradition, artistic leader Maurits van Geel provides an image of dance folklore, which is the basis of all dance art from Europe and other continents.

The company attracts over 60,000 visitors a year. The company also dances productions especially for young people. These productions can be seen in theatres, but the company also performs in schools, gyms and auditoria.
