February 7, 2012 - Ice skating near the Doelenzaal

The canal at the Kloveniersburgwal is taken over by skaters. Within the warm studio's there's a lot of dance going on, but the outside is all about skating. One of our colleagues made some very nice pictures.

January 31, 2012 - Succesfull audition Mannen van de Tango

The audition for the performance Mannen van de Tango (Men of the Tango), that will be in the theaters in 2012-2013, was on January 28th. In Mannen van de Tango choreographer Neel Verdoorn explores the tango and finds inspiration in the music of the legendary piano player, composer, arranger and orchestra leader Osvaldo Pugliese.

January 31, 2012 - SubWays turns into SubWays 10+

The performance SubWays that premiered in September, has been transformed into a special performance for the youth, and has been named SubWays 10+. On January 26 there was a presentation day in our own Doelenzaal. The new performance SubWays 10+ was shown to the elder children of primary school De Caegh from Opdam and students of the Mediacollege in Amsterdam.

November 28, 2012 - Unesco adds new dances to the World Heritage List

Unesco extended the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage with eight elements. Next to music, literature, rituals and the art of sailing, two dances were added: the Saman dance from Aceh (Indonesia) and the Xoan dance and singing from Vietnam. Id performed the Saman Dance in the programme Rode Peper (Red Pepper).
